In the late 1960’s he took part in the famous lone-sailor Golden Globe Race. His yacht capsized of the Cape of Good Hope in a hurricane and he survived. He was the first round the world sailor ever to sail the 5 Capes, alone. He went on to achieve even greater sailing triumphs as a lone sailor. He has been a visionary, mentor, advisor and councillor to all those who both dream of and strive to doing the extraordinary at sea. This is his story.
